Okay, let's try this blogging thing.

So today is Monday, the 3rd of March. Up until now, all I had done was work on my resume and do a few job searches. So today was the day I was actually going to get down to the nitty-gritty. But before all that, let's re-cap the weekend.

I got to Sawyer's house in Ridgewood Thursday night. For dinner we went to a diner and I had a yummy grilled cheese and a chocolate milkshake. I don't know what it is, but grilled cheeses and shakes are never as good anywhere else as they are at a diner in the tri-state area. But I digress.

So on Friday I decided to do a bit of shopping at the fabulous malls we have here in Bergen County. Have I mentioned that clothing is tax-free here? Yeah, it's awesome. That includes shoes, coats, purses (I think?)...it's so great. I bought a new fleece and a parka from Campmor (http://www.campmor.com/) since my preppie pea coat just won't cut it in this winter weather.

Today it went up to 60 degrees.

So maybe I should have waited on the fleece and parka. But oh well. There's always next year.

On Friday, Sawyer and I went to Happy Hour at The Office (http://www.office-beerbar.com/) in Ridgewood. Since Sawyer's a teacher, she was out of school at 3 and we were at the bar by 4. And for everyone who keeps saying how expensive everything is up north, you know how much my beers were? TWO DOLLARS. $2 Miller Lite drafts. They're $3.50 at the Duffer in Atlanta! Happy Hour was good.

Saturday was a lazy day since I was hungover from all those Miller Lites and late night rock band (if you think guitar hero is addicting, then you don't want to try rock band. It's out of control). It started snowing like crazy at one point and then abruptly stopped. And it was like 45 degrees out. Very strange. That night we went to a party for my friend Ellen's fiance's 30th birthday. It was a fun party with great food and great people.

Here's a pic of Sawyer, me, and Tina at the party.

On Sunday I had lunch with Nancy and got to see her new house in Ridgewood! It's so cute! It's so weird that she and Dan live here now as grown-ups. We then had lunch at The Office, but I stayed away from the Miller Lite this time.

Sunday night I went to church at Mt Carmel and it was so strange. I hadn't been to the church in probably two or three years. Everything looked the same, except I didn't recognize a single person. I felt like an outsider!

So that brings me to Monday, finally. Thanks to my buddy Jonah, I had obtained a lead for a position at a marketing company. I don't feel comfortable mentioning names of companies in this blog, so we'll get real creative here and call it Company A. So I called the VP and have set up an interview for tomorrow morning at 10A. My first interview here! Yay! I celebrated by going to Banana Republic and buying a new suit (tax-free).

Later today I received a call from Company B, where Sawyer's boyfriend Steve works. They called asking about a sales position. They emailed me some form to fill out, and we will probably set up a meeting on Wednesday.

On another note, I got a call from a well-known website that recently laid off about 1,000 people. You're all smart cookies, you know who I'm talking about. Anyway, anyone else think that's kind of weird? Yeah, I'm not so secure with going to work there.

In other news, those of you who remember the name Mike Foley will find it interesting that I may be meeting up with him in the city tomorrow. He's in town on business. Ashley is convinced we're going to end up together. I think he's just stalking me but doesn't know it yet. :) For those of you wondering, I dated him a few years ago and he will sporadically pop up like every six months to a year with either a phone call or text message or I'll just run in to him at Kroger (even though he lives on the other side of town). I personally think he's a little crazy, but he's a good person nonetheless. It will be funny if I do meet up with him after not having seen him in nearly two years. Well, aside from that time in Kroger when I ducked behind a vitamin display to avoid him because I was looking pretty rough.

So this is a really long post, but it covered a lot of days. Hopefully if I keep up with this, then it won't be this long each time. I'll try to blog tomorrow when I come back from the interview.

Hope everyone is doing well!

:)
