Okay, no one has actually asked me anything. Actually, for all I know, nobody is even reading this besides the three people who have posted. But I would like to imagine that someone actually cares besides my mom. :)
So let's see. I finally finished "The Other Boleyn Girl" and it freaking rocked. Although it was so nonchalant when they beheaded Anne. I'm sorry, did I just give something away? If so, go back to World history from high school, folks! So Sawyer and I decided to see the movie on Saturday and we kept saying how we wondered what they were going to cut out from the 700 page book to fit into a two hour movie. The answer? EVERYTHING. The movie was terrible. If you saw it and liked it, I'm guessing you didn't read the book. There was nothing wrong with the acting, the script was just horrendous. I can only imagine how the author must feel. I mean, they left out MAJOR parts of the story. And they failed to remember Mary's marriage to William Carey at the end of the movie. (that's not giving anything away, she's married to him from the first page of the book and it's discussed throughout the whole novel. It was like halfway through the movie the screenwriters forgot about that whole part). But enough about that.
Friday night and all day Saturday we had some pretty nasty weather and storms. No snow, just rain. Lots of it. Fortunately, it ended before I went into the city for dinner with my friend Lauren. Miss Vallario just may be one of my favorite people ever. She's always so positive and good-spirited; you just can't be in a bad mood around her. :) I need more Lauren in my life! We went to this great Mexican place that she loves called Canyon Road. (http://nymag.com/listings/restaurant/canyon-road/)

I regretted that margarita about 12 hours later. I'm getting old. I just can't hang. And I can't do liquor. I had 2 (TWO!) and I didn't have a buzz, but I had a hangover. What the hell? I'm old.
Anyway, Lauren and I had a great time catching up. We ended up having this discussion about how there are no such things as accidents and how things happen for a reason. I had no idea that at that moment a HUGE storm (just wind, actually) was blowing through Ridgewood and making this theory of things happening for a reason even more true.
I hopped on the bus and headed back to Ridgewood around midnight. As I was driving back to Sawyer's house, I realized as I approached her neighborhood that the power was out. When I got to her house, I had to park on the street. Earlier that day when I was leaving to drive to the bus stop, she had pulled her car to the end of the driveway so I could maneuver my car around hers and out to the street. As I was leaving she said, "I'm just going to leave my car here, I don't feel like pulling it all the way back up." It's strange, the things you do without thinking why.
Once I parked my car on the street, I walked up the driveway. Never before have I regretted NOT taking a picture. I WISH you all could have seen this GIGANTIC tree branch that had fallen EXACTLY where my and Sawyer's cars would have been parked. This branch would have crushed both our cars and caused severe damage. But like Lauren and I had discussed, everything happens for a reason. Or as my mother said, Sawyer and I had a guardian angel keeping an eye out. (Vallario, if you're reading this before we get a chance to talk, this is what I was telling you I had to talk to you about! Crazy, right?!)
So the storms wreaked havoc all over Ridgewood. There were full trees down all over the place. Now Ridgewood is an old town. These trees weren't planted just last year. These are trees that may be close to 100 years old if not more. So they're BIG. At least 6 streets in the neighborhood were blocked off. Fortunately no one was seriously injured in the tri-state area that we've heard of. Here's a quick article with a video from News 4 NY: http://www.wnbc.com/news/15528073/detail.html
Between the storm and daylight savings, I didn't get much sleep Saturday night and was headed to the Pearl River St Paddy's Day Parade. I gotta be honest. I saw maybe 10 seconds before I froze solid. So we just stayed in the bar all afternoon.

Tina provided the headbands, glitter and koozies and a girl at the bar painted the clovers on our faces. I brought the Hoff because, well, no party is complete without him.
Here's a video of the firemen playing the bagpipes in the bar. (hopefully it works!) I wonder if they got free beer each time they played. They should have!
Oh, and a quick shoutout to my Clemson Tigers--#3 in the ACC and headed to the NCAA tournament! Well, I think. I haven't kept up with my sportscenter but that's the word on the street. If someone could confirm or deny this, I would appreciate it.
So the day was a lot of fun, and I'm glad I went. next up: Seaside's parade with the one, the only, MARIA! That's Emily Asay for those of you not in the know. She's a friend of mine from college. Don't ask about the Maria thing, I'm still not completely sure about that, but it stuck. Oh, and the Hoff will be there as well.
So back to why I'm really here: a job. So Company B asked me to go into the office yesterday. Since their office is on 32nd and Broadway, I figured I would just take the train to the PATH and then get off at 33rd street. So here's the deal though. The train is $6.50 and it takes you to Hoboken. The bus is $5.25 and takes you to Manhattan. Plus, once in Hoboken, you take the PATH for another $1.75 and you can't use your metrocard (at least i don't think). So I regret having taken the train. But I did get on the PATH for free because some transit worker was letting everyone in for free due to some delay. Not sure what delay, but it didn't affect me.
So the interview. I met with the hiring manager and he was really cool. I had to fill out a ton of paperwork which was pretty much my resume all over again. So he and one of the sales reps interviewed me and I think it went really well. They were both really nice and it was laid back and there weren't any curveballs. So the interview definitely went well since they asked me to take the personality assessment test and some math analysis test. Once I was done, they asked me to come back in today to go out in the field with one of the sales reps. So after two and a half hours, I was free to go home. Zzzzzzzzz......
This morning on my way to the office, I FINALLY connected with one of the recruiters from Company C. We had been playing phone tag since Friday. Company C is actually a well-known company everyone would know. My cousin works in their HR office out on Long Island, so she helped get my resume to them. Don't know if this is more of a courtesy to her than an actual interview, but either way, it's a good opportunity. And the location is great; right by Union Square. So we'll see how that goes.
Today went well. I enjoyed going on these calls and seeing what exactly it is that I would be doing. The guy that took me out didn't seem to like me at first, but by the end of the day he had warmed up to me and we were buddies. He said he'd put in a good word for me with the hiring manager. I'm supposed to call the manager to let him know how it went, but I didn't get home until close to 630, so I'll call him tomorrow, hopefully before my interview. But right now Company B is the front runner. but like I said to my cousin at Company C, I'm not putting all my eggs in one basket!
So that's pretty much it. I would like to say, however, that this back and forth into the city has given me a lot respect and made me a lot more grateful to my dad who did this for 23 years or so. The only thing I'm doing that he didn't is wear heels. :) But thanks Dad! (By the way, Kai, if you're reading this, any advice for my pained feet would be appreciated! and not wearing heels is not the answer)

I can't believe you don't want to be a "sneaker commuter!" There is nothing wrong w/ carrying your heels in a bag and sporting fashionable tennies until you're at the office. ; ) Have fun w/ Maria this weekend; I don't think I've seen her since the Dave show we went to a few summers back. Miss ya lady!
What do you mean no one reads these? I'm glued to it! :)
