I mean really, does it get any better than that?
I went to a Clemson alumni happy hour on Wednesday and scored one of these. It was a pretty good turnout according to Jonah. Usually it's only about 10 people, but this time a marketing professor brought his Maymester class up from Clemson, so it was a good group. And there's nothing more entertaining than watching a poor kid from Easley, SC who has never been out of the south order a beer in NYC. "What do you mean a beer is $5? That's a whole pitcher at Tiger Town!" Welcome to the real world.
A quick shoutout to my cousin Corey and his co-workers Alexa and Emily who I met last night for drinks. That shot of patron did not make it easy to wake up this morning!
This afternoon we get out of work at 1. I am finally going to hit up Greenberg's Bakery and get a black and white cookie. For those of you who don't know, a bakery is a place where they ONLY make cookies, cakes, cupcakes, doughnuts, crumbuns, etc. No, it's not like a bakery in Publix or Kroger. It's a BAKERY. You gotta experience it to understand. As for black and white cookies, they are proof that God wants us to be happy. It's a mixture of cookie and cake, and one half is vanilla icing and the other half is chocolate icing. Pure heaven. The reason I'm going to this particular bakery is because they were voted by New York Magazine as having the best in town. My family grew up with a slight black and white obsession, so I need to see if these really are "the best." And if they are, I have no doubt that Mike will ask me to ship them to him in Texas.
Looking forward to Memorial Day Weekend. Today I'm just going to go to the gym, do laundry and clean my room. And I'm a big dork because I'm looking forward to it. Tomorrow I'm having brunch with my roommate Jessica and her friends, and then Tina is coming in from Jersey to stay until Monday. Yay! We're planning on getting a group together to go to the park on Sunday and bring some booze and cold cuts (no grilling in Central Park!). We'll be there with half of Manhattan, I'm sure. If you're in the area, you're welcome to join, just give me a call. We're not sure where we're going to hang just yet, probably Sheep Meadow or the Great Lawn. The weather is supposed to be PHENOMNEAL. Spring is finally here!
Be safe in your Memorial Day excursions, everyone!
