Sex and the City

So Friday night I went to see Sex and the City with Ellie, her roommate and a bunch of their friends. To prepare, we watched old episodes while sipping on cosmos and champagne. The movie wasn't until 10 and we had our tickets, but we still left her apartment around 830p. The line was all the way down the street. We waited on line for over an hour and a half! We had fun people watching, though. The amount of girls dressed up for this movie was sad. It's a movie for crying out loud. You are not Samantha, Carrie, Charlotte and Miranda. Get over it. More sad is the amount of people who traveled to NYC to shell out $12 for the movie, stay at a hotel and get dressed up. I just don't get it. I wore jeans and flip flops. As did everyone else I was with. I mean, I love the show as much as the next person and probably quote it at least once a day, but please. IT'S A MOVIE. IT'S NOT REAL. You are now the same as those people who dress up for Harry Potter. Just because you're wearing a cute dress and carrying a fake (because let's be honest, if you could afford a real one, you would know better than to get dressed up for this) Louis Vuitton bag doesn't mean you're any different.

Anyway, all that being said, I loved the movie. I thought it tied up everything with a nice haute couture bow. ;) My mother mentioned that she had heard bad reviews. The reason there were bad reviews is because it was MEN reviewing this movie! Of COURSE they're going to be bad. Men are terrified of this show. It scares them to think that women really are that frank when men aren't around. So of course the movie didn't get good reviews. Everyone I have talked to that saw the movie and was already a fan of the show loved it. And the fact that it was a "surprise" that it did well----who ever was surprised is a moron. The shows were sold out in advance. You think a chick flick can't sell? Nice try.

So Sex got my stamp of approval. I can't wait till the DVD comes out! That’s definitely one to add to my collection.

Oh man, up until this point, I thought Sex and the City was a reality show about 3 hookers and their mom. I was way off.

Cool, glad you liked it, I'm finally going 6/14 with girls from SJU (you gotta really plan things in advance when there are kids involved and a husband with zero interest in seeing a chick flick).
