So I went to the park at lunch today since it's pretty close to my office and it's a beautiful fall day. And oh, what do we have here? It's David Blaine STANDING! No, he didn't give up; he's "taking a break" to make sure here's still medically sound. Apparently they're not checking his mental health. I was there for about 5 minutes and he was standing the whole time. Anyway, I read more about it being a scam here.
So this kind of defeats the purpose of the whole thing. I know they're making sure he's okay, but the point of this being a stunt is that he could die. Hell, I can hang upside down for 60 hours if I got to stand up every once in a while. And it made me wonder, who in God's name pays for all this? Look at all the equipment. Seriously? And not to mention the security.
Speaking of security, the highlight of all this is when some tourist asked a security guard what was going on and then asked who David Blaine was. The security guard replied, "He's a street performer." hahaha...it's an insult to street performers everywhere! What a nut.

Who is going to bail out ABC after losing millions of revenue on these "David Lame" specials? I like how they were able to end the show with him disappearing. Hopefully he got stuck in a tree upside down. Funny how the audio didn't pick up the boos from the live audience.
