Company D!

Okay, I've got an interview lined up. Finally.

Let's backtrack a little bit.

Company C's recruiter called me a few days ago to check in and let me know that they have decided to not fill the position after all. Of course, he first left me a voicemail, so I got my hopes up, but alas, when I returned the call, it was bad news. Or no news, actually. So back at square one.

I had actually started to applying for jobs that were beneath me. As in, for which I am too experienced. I feel like I'm in a weird place with my job, not enough experience for some jobs, but too much experience for others.

That's when Company D popped up.

Company D is actually the first company I worked for when I moved to Atlanta. Fortunately, I've been smart enough in my career to not burn any bridges with my prior bosses, so when my former boss at Company D in Atlanta heard that the NY office was hiring, he sent them my info. Even more fortunate for me is that the big boss in the NY office remembers me from way back when and she told me that she was disappointed that I didn't continue with the company and take the promotion. I told her that at this point in time I now wish I had. I would still be employed!

So we chatted for a bit and later that afternoon one of the managers called me. Then the big boss called me again and said I should come in on Tuesday.

So that's that. I just don't want to put all my eggs in one basket. Who knows, I could totally screw up the interview and pitch and wind up living with my parents. But let's hope not.

Glad to hear things are picking back up. I think it would be crazy if you ended up back at Company D - like you've gone full circle. Good luck in the interview - I'll be waiting to read about it.
