EMPLOYED!

The day has finally come. I am no longer a member of the unemployment community. A company was actually crazy enough to hire me. Can you believe it? Me neither.

So I start Monday and I'm pretty pumped. The interview obviously went really well, and I can't believe how nervous I was for it. I was asked to bring in a pitch and spent all of last night going over it and practicing only to basically walk the managers through it when I got there. I had nothing to be nervous about!

I met with two managers and the VP. Then my friend Matt who works there took me to lunch. When I came back, the manager had me come into her office and she said, "Well, we've interviewed 8 other people and some of them have more experience" (long pause) "But I want to offer you the position." Was she trying to kill me?!

So needless to say, I accepted.

And tomorrow I am driving back to Atlanta to bring more clothes back up here. I will continue to stay with Nancy's parents until I have a place to live of my own. Fortunately, they are happy to have me and have told me to stay as long as I need to. :)

As for the apartment, I know a girl looking for a roommate, and it would be a great location (33rd and Lex), but I think in the end it's too far out of my price range. My pay is set up base/commission in a 70-30 format, so my regular bi-monthly paychecks wouldn't be enough to pay the rent. But 4x a year I'll get paid the commission which is the 30%. Does that make sense? So if I was paid a straight up 100%, then all would be kosher, but because of the pay structure, it's not. I was hasty and emailed her telling her I was interested and had gotten the job and wanted to come by on Sunday, but now I'm thinking I should look for someplace that I can afford on my 70% and then I'll get to enjoy the 30% when it comes.

Anyway.

So that's pretty much it. Sorry this isn't as witty and sarcastic as my other entries, I'm just so tired and the 14 hour drive that awaits me tomorrow isn't helping!

Anyway, if you're in the A on Thursday, come swing by McDuff's after work. I'll be there.

Hope all is well!
